Solid Surface Countertop Remnants

Solid surface remnants are leftover pieces of solid surface material—such as Corian, HI-MACS, or Avonite—that remain after a larger countertop fabrication or installation project. These remnants are typically smaller sections that weren’t needed for the main project but are still in excellent condition and fully usable.

Remnants are often sold at a discount by fabricators, suppliers, or contractors. They come in various sizes, colors, and finishes, and can be a cost-effective solution for smaller projects like bathroom vanities, laundry room counters, desk surfaces, shelves, cutting boards, or even window sills and backsplashes. Since solid surface materials are non-porous, stain-resistant, and easy to maintain, using remnants in these areas provides both practicality and durability.

Working with solid surface remnants offers the same benefits as full sheets: seamless bonding, integrated sinks (on a small scale), and the ability to be cut, sanded, and thermoformed. However, the main limitation is size. Because remnants are typically irregular or undersized for full kitchens, they’re best suited for smaller or secondary applications unless you're able to combine multiple pieces creatively.

Solid Surface Exchange

When shopping for remnants, it's important to check with local countertop fabricators or home improvement suppliers. Many will have a selection available at lower prices, and some may even be willing to fabricate and install a custom piece using the remnant material. This can be a great way to get the quality and appearance of solid surface without the full material cost of a new slab.
